Picture this: a sunny Saturday morning, a pleasant walk through a garden, and friends, family members, and colleagues chatting as they enjoyed the scenery.
That was how we spent the morning at the Maybank x PaPaZao Community Walk on 7 September, where participants came together for a fun and meaningful weekend activity centred on active living, social connection, and community spirit.
A collaboration between Maybank and PaPaZao, the event brought together 1,500 participants from Maybank, South East CDC, and PaPaZao for a scenic 2km walk through the greenery of Gardens by the Bay, followed by carnival-style games, performances, and activities for all to enjoy.
PaPaZao, a community initiative started by celebrated local filmmaker Jack Neo, was created to encourage Singaporeans to lead more active and social lifestyles through the simple act of walking together.
Gardens by the Bay served as the perfect backdrop for this meaningful initiative. It was heartwarming to see participants and their families taking time to connect with one another, slow down, appreciate the greenery around them, and enjoy the view of Singapore’s cityscape in the distance.
The fun continued even after the walk. As participants reached the end point, they were welcomed by a festive carnival featuring a variety of game stations, with prizes awarded to those who completed at least five out of ten activities.
An F&B booth was also available, giving participants a chance to refresh themselves after the morning walk and continue enjoying the lively atmosphere.
A highlight of the event was FirstCom Academy’s booth, where participants got to spin the wheel and win gifts and coupons.
Beyond the fun, our Education Consultants also engaged participants in meaningful conversations about lifelong learning and the importance of staying connected in today’s fast-changing world. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about our WSQ-certified courses, including programmes designed to equip learners with practical digital skills to strengthen their confidence, improve their online presence, and stay relevant in the modern workplace.
FirstCom Academy’s mission to promote lifelong learning goes beyond providing quality training and upskilling courses. We are also committed to supporting community initiatives like PaPaZao, which encourage individuals to take active steps towards healthier, more connected, and more fulfilling lives.
We would like to thank the PaPaZao team for continuing this meaningful initiative, for bringing joy to participants, and for allowing us to be part of a shared effort to create better futures for all, one small step at a time.
